New iPhone Rumors

The rumors that the new iPhone will launch late are unfounded. What we can expect is that in mid-September the 7S model will debut along with the much hyped iPhone 8, and then go on sale a week or so later.

Three phones are expected to be announced next month. They will include the iPhone 7S, the iPhone 7S Plus and the entirely new iPhone 8, or as some rumors have it - the iPhone Pro. The new model is expected to be the most expensive iPhone ever made, with some estimates putting the base model at around $1400!

Three colors

The new iPhone 8 is confirmed to be released in three colors only: white, black, and the copper-like "blush gold." It is unknown what colors the 7S variants will be released in but it seems likely that the same colors available currently will be available for the upgraded 7S.

No 3.5mm headphone jack

It would have taken courage for Apple to have added back the 3.5mm audio jack, but like the Google Pixel 2 - flagship phones are trending away from this jack as they become ever slimmer. Rumors contradict whether or not airpods will be shipped with the new 7S models

Wireless charging

The new iPhone 8 is confirmed to have wireless charging because of its glass back. Ever since the iPhone 5 and onward iPhones have had aluminum backs which prohibit wireless charging. Unfortunately, the wireless charger will be an add-on functionality and will probably cost an extra $100.

Edge-to-edge display

Unlike the 7S models, the 8 will have an OLED screen and a 5.8" edge-to-edge display. The iconic Home Button is gone, replaced with a more reliable virtual one. Also gone is Touch ID, replaced by the Facial Recognition. The screen has a "cutout" on the front for the camera and sensors, making the phone otherwise bezel-less. The iPhone 8 is noticeably longer than the iPhone 7.

Price

The iPhone 8 price has not been confirmed, but industry experts expect it to be between $1200- $1400. The 7S models will be much cheaper, with a base price around $700.

Expected shortages

Due to the complexities of the screen and hardware components for the iPhone 8, expect that it will take many months for your phone to arrive. Yes, it will go on sale next month but reliable reports say that Apple will have a hard time meeting the expected demand as the phone is only now being made. Yes, until this month the iPhone 8 was still being finalized.
